For those of you who do not wish to have a J-pouch done, or are having problems with your existing J-pouch and need to have it removed - let me suggest the Kock pouch by Dr. Joel J. Bauer at Mt. Sinai in NYC as an alternative.

He has performed over 540 new Kock pouches with a high rate of success. Dr. Bauer can be reached at 212-517-8600. Their offices are located at 25 East 69th Street, NYC.

Oh, and by the way - I have a Kock pouch by Dr. Bauer. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

I had my pouch done by Dr. Stephen Gorfine who is associated with Dr. Bauer at Manhattan Surgical Associates.

Does anyone know anything about Dr. Randy Steinhagen, also affiliated with Mt. Sinai? Does he do kpouches?

Hi Maddy. I don't know if Dr. Steinhagen does K-pouches or not.

Dr. Victor Fazio at Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Dana Launer at Scripps in San Diego are the other two "biggies" to go to for a Kock Pouch.

I don't know if Dr. Steinhagen does Kpouches but he did my jpouch and I loved him. I think he is a wonderful surgeon and extremely attentive. I would call his office and ask. If you are looking at Mt. Sinai I have also heard wonderful things about Dr. Bauer who Bodoni mentions. Good Luck.

I just joined the site. I am looking into getting the K pouch with DR. Milsom at NY Presbyterian in NYC. I was told Steinhaggen did not do the surery. Dr. Bauer and Milsom are the only ones who I have been able to find.

I haven't heard of Dr. Milsom. Besides for Dr. Bauer, I only know of Dr. Fazio at Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Launer in San Diego. My Kock pouch was done by Dr. Fazio, so of course I'm prejudiced !
