I am very grateful for my pouch and valve. I babied it for many years in the begginning never eating anything remotely able to clog the catheter during interbation. I got brave as time moved on...but still avoid many foods that take too long to deal with in the restroom. Until I found this org in 08 I had only met one other kpoucher...I find it liberating to read all these threads...good or bad....with members that understand. Cheers to another 31 years! And best to you all! Proctocolectomy 1979; Kock Pouch 1980; valve repairs 1981/83/85; Cholecystectomy (gallbladder) 1985

Happy K pouch birthday to you I am at 32yrs, not without complications but I am still fighting for my baby and hoping that 'he' stays healthy and strong for another 32! Thank you prof Koch and your wonderful team...and all of those docs who believed in you and your new system. Sharon It could be worse...oh, wait..it already has been! then I guess it can only get better from here....
