hello everyone...
Well, thanks to Holly you have all been kept apraised of my progress and movements...
It is still hard to sit at the computer and write so I will make this short...
It is great to be home and even better to be in my own bed...the midline wound is closing nicely and we hope that it does not decide to open up elsewhere...the sutures around the stoma have let go on the left side corner but the stoma does not seem to be sinking (think the Lord) like the last time...I don't think that I can really go through that one again!
I am intubating strait but still have fear in my heart each time I try...I don't know if it will ever go away again or if I will ever be able to take intubating for granted again...
I am still on pins and needles not know if this is going to work...the surgery went fine, as it always does but it is my healing process that seems to be called in question...we have noticed that it is alway around the 8th or 9th week that all hell breaks loose and things fall apart...so I am holding my breath until week 10...Dr. C Calls nearly daily to check up on me and the French surgeon is a real gentleman too...I have been fortunate this time...let it be the last!
as for the pain in my bottom...no fever or chills just a very strong pressure pain whenever I try to sit or start to get up from the chair or sofa..they suspect fluid buildup or a pocket....for now I feel as if I own a very swollen rectum again!
Other than that, I wait and enjoy the presence of my favorite best girlfriend who is taking great care of me....
I will write more later but I just want to thank you all for your wonderful wishes and prayers
Sharon

Hi Sharon,

It's really nice to see you posting again! And too, that you have your girlfriend there to help you.

I hope that all goes well and I will be pulling for you and I bet that this time your valve is going to work just fine.

Don't let too much pressure build up on it [ let it build up gradually]...if you feel like going...go ahead and intubate.

Keep us informed on how you're doing.

Again, great to see you back!

John
