I have been taken aside and chastised (probably rightly so) for appearing anti-French in some (all?) of my postings....
I do apologize...
My answer was self-justification for the number of years of experience in France and the French medical system...I stand corrected.
I love it here and have lived here for 25 years...what I don't love is a specific variety of French Surgeon who have become professors in Public hospitals and who feel the need to look down upon patients in pain. I have been told by other doctors ( and their wives) that it is considered necessary for a surgeon to be a good prfessional, to create awe and distance between him/herself and the patient and to never admit that you don't know or are wrong. It is called the God complex here. Up until very recently it was nearly impossible to sue a French surgeon for malpractice...it makes you wonder.
I don't know if they are right or wrong, I only know that as the person on the other side of the desk or scalple, it is nice to sometimes see the human being behind the mask. 47 years of hospitals and surgeries has taught me that a good doctor is a good person first and treats his patients with kindness and respect..I may be worng, it will not be the first time, or the last. Big Grin
So yes, I apologise and do not try to justify my attitude with excuses like fustration and pain. They are no excusses for rudness...ever.
I have had many ( too many Smiler) doctors who have wonderful hearts and souls (yes, you Dr.C if you ever read this) and who have gone into the profession of medicine to help others and to ease their pain and I thank you all of being there for me when I needed you.
As for the others who consider it 'just a job'...try to think of how it feels when you are sitting in the patient chair.

I am not sure what you are apologizing for. To me, all of your posts were simply observations of your own personal experiences, not blanket statements on the state of the country you are living in. But, I guess if there was that perception for some people, it makes sense to put that to rest.

I certainly can understand the frustration of dealing with an unresponsive doctor/nurse/hospital/insurance provider. It can definitely make you feel insignificant and wear you down. I agree that if the people we have to interact with portrayed themselves as feeling humans, we can forgive a great deal of inadequacies.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

Thank you Jan, So very much for your response...you are a very kind soul to understand...yes, I did recieve flak via a pm from a member or 2, one who basically told me to shut up and get an outside bag! That hurt very much...It is so hard to fight alone, here in a country where the politics says that K pouches are not necessary and that no 'personal considerations' should be taken into account when chosing a surgical solution !
End ilios only!
I feel so lost here living this hell and when my 'friends' from this site shut me off or blow me off I feel totally alone in this world.
Thank you to all of you who are hanging in there with me.
I really need you all now...I will post the latest.
Sharon
