I intubated only 3 times today for the first time ever - AMAZING! I didn't even have to intubate at work (2nd day in a row for that). Even when my j-pouch functioned great I never spent so little time in the bathroom. This is the coolest thing ever!!!!!

Heh, sometimes it is a miraculous thing.
Yesterday I intubated at 6am, then didn't again til 3:15, and then again at 10p
(i then intubated again at about 3am when i got home from the club but that was a precaution since i had just eaten a greasy taco bout an hour earlier)

i wish every day was like that, and so consistent. I do have very good days like that (like last sunday, i went like 10 hours in between needing to intubate. with no problem...AND i excersized for two hours or so)

I expect that this will give hope to those k-pouchers who doubted that this is possible. Three is my average. Some days are four, and some have only been twice.[rarely]
We Marsupials can have a good life.

Hey everyone.
Just have to say that it is great not to be a slave to your commode, however, that's what got Chris in trouble when his valve slipped. Dr Fazio said he was waiting too long. Chris didn't feel as though he needed to intubate so he was listening to his body.
Dr Fazio and Dr Shore both agreed that waiting more than 5-6 hrs usually catches up with you and may eventually casue problems. Just be cautious and don't push the limits. You all know what Chris went through when his valve slipped and Sharon's scenario. Slipped valve is not fun.
Glad you are all doing well.
