Every fruit or vegetable (salad) I eat seem to just go right through me and gets stuck at the end of the tube. Not getting to enjoy them or get any nutrients from them. Any suggestions?

Hi Phil,
Sometimes stuff goes through too fast and doesn't get time to digest (our systems our short anyway but certain food combinations can either slow it down or speed it up).
First off, I blend a lot of veggies raw and drink them or eat them as cold soups..yummy and easily digestable and no clogging that way. I do it with a lot of fruits too, smoothies etc.
For veggies I found that any ribbed veggies, celery, fennel etc are going to stick as well as lots of salads...I eat very small quantites of them with meats at the same time..they digest better that way...I peel other veggies like peppers and tomatoes by either grilling first or boiling so that the skins just glide off of them...I can now eat grated carrots well and really crunchy lettues etc..romain is good.
And I chew, chew, chew...
You will have to test things out but understand that we are all different. If you mix carbs and protiens your digestion gets difficult and I find, for me at least that the veggies don't get digested. If I seperate carb meals and protien meals then my veggies digest better and I can eat more of them...
For now I use a hand blender that is great for this sort of thing..I even purée tons of cooked veggies that way...just play with it and don't forget to take a good multi vitimin in the meantime.
Sharon

It could be worse...oh, wait..it already has been! then I guess it can only get better from here....

Sharon, great suggestions.

The most frustrating part of the kpouch is the trouble with fiber food. But, it's different for all of us.

You can try to take an immodium with meals to see if it slows down the digestion and helps.

I rotate my diet. After 30 yrs it's easy for me to know what's gonna be trouble especially if I eat too many fruits/veggies daily (with this yummy summer fruit!). I might eat it anyway and just deal with it, but it takes more inturbation time that's for sure.

I can't stress enough with Sharon about the CHEWING.

And, drinking green tea or grape juice during meals helps with any "sludge" and thinning out, although I found just water does that enough for me.

Thanks Girls,
At least I'm on track, some of what you said I'm already doing. I'll definately try everything else. The rotation I hadn't thought about.

I know a few people who use a power jucier to get the nutrients since we cannot digest certain fruits and veggies.

A good power juice costs around $100 at WalMart. They separate all the pulp, skins, seeds, etc.
