Hi everyone...just a little note to say that it is 1 month today and that things are moving along slowly but surely...I have an open wound innfection..staff...really not very nice but then again anything that can be fixed with a pill is fine with me Smiler
I am very tired..more so than I expected and unfortunately do not sleep very well or enough..
I am sure that fear has a lot to do with it all.
My pain in my non existant rectum is almost gone..probably only fluid that had accumulated there that has been reabsorbed...
I go for small walks and try to get back into real life but for now and probably for a short while it will not be easy...I panic every time that I have to intubate if there is even the slightest 'drag' or 'resistance' on the tube...fear that something has twisted again or fallen or dropped...I am not used to living in fear but I know that one day I will be back to normal again...I have to be...
I am one of the extremely lucky ones...I do have an understanding and kind husband...he cleans and does laundry and shops...he even does toilets....but no windows Big Grin
He is happy to have me home and not 5000 miles away...cheaper on the long distance calls Smiler
at least he can see my smiling face every day...
The friends and family are limited here, more do to geography than anything else...I am much too far away to get visits so loneliness is a real problem as well as pure isolation...thank goodness for the nurse who comes to dress the wound every day, if not I would see no one until evening when hubby gets back after 8pm!
So, I will read and write and watch my american dvds in english and try hard to not dissappoint everyone...I will heal. i will heal. I will heal!!!!!
thank you all for being around and I hope to have good news soon...patience is a virtue that I need to acquire!

Sounds wonderful. How could you ever disappoint? Put it out of your mind. When you are lonely, come here and pretend you are surrounded by friends!

Jan Smiler

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

Hi Sharon,

Glad to see you posting! Enjoy your walks, try and take just one day at a time and I'm sure you will see progress.

Thank you Katey, Jan and Les,
So far, so good....not ready to pronounce success yet..I will have to wait and see but for now I am getting a bit more active and going out with my hubby a bit more...very careful to where though...good bathrooms with sinks are a must!
Need to be very careful...and sitting too long is not a good idea yet...
the support that all of you are giving me helps greatly to fight the isolation and loneliness....I will post more later but for now a big hug to you all
Sharon
