Just as the title says. I'm sick, I caught something really nasty, is it the flu? I dunno. But since I've been sick my pouch has been kinda acting up. I've been eating less, mostly toast and hot drinks etc and my pouch has been really gurgly and I've been emptying more often and its all liquid output. I've never really noticed a correlation between being sick and going to the bathroom before, any thoughts?

Hi Katie,
Could this be pouchitis? I never had it and neither has Chris but liquid output seems to be a sign. What other symptoms do you have?Fever, temp, chills, etc?

Well I have cough, runny nose, sore throat and my husband is sick too. Pouchitis did cross my mind but I don't think it could make the above symptoms, and of course pouchitis wouldn't make my husband sick Smiler Don't know if I have a fever, don't think so but I'm on immunosupressives so....
I guess I'm just wondering if when other people with k-pouches get sick it affects their output too.

How long have you been sick? Does your husband have diarrhea? If you have a virus and it attacks the intestine, you should have liquid stools and noises. This should pass in 24 to 48 hours. If it doesn't time to seen physician. If your husband has diarrhea, you are likely experiencing the same thing.

Hi Katie, I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I suspect you have a cold/upper resp. infection. If you have the flu, you would likely be very ill and in bed with a fever.
I think people have commented that their pouches act up when they come down with a "cold" or other illness, so I'm sure it applies to the K. Just be mindful of getting dehydrated.
Take it easy and feel better soon Wink
