Best of luck Chris. You'll be in my thoughts tomorrow. When I get back on my feet I'll see if I can stop by, I live in Fort Myers not too far from you.

surgery was more complicated than expected. when the dr made a small incision he was right in chris's belly because he is so thin.
the pouch had turned away from the valve, no scarring had occurred to keep it in place since the may surgery.
he pulled it back and sewed it but said it is still going to be a challenge to intubate, may need better sewing in the future. valve is good though.
staying over night.
chris is having a bit of pin now. he should be able to return to school tuesday.
i will pick him up tomorrow.

chris had a bad night, alot of pain, no output, no sleep. lots of gas and nothing ordered for gas and he forgot to pack his.
better resolve this morning, walked, maneuvered the tube and output is good, appetitie excellent, he had a huge dinner, potatoe encrusted cod (3 pieces)and rice and 2 dinner rolls, 2 pieces od chocolate cake.
breakfast bacon, hash brown(2), 2 biscuits.
drinking lots of gatorade and grape juice.
just had the iv d/c'd nd waiting for dr to asess and discharge, then the 2 hr drive home.
discomfort is high since the dr cleaned the granulated area on the old incision, also adjusted the stoma and that is sutured and will be for 2 weeks.other than that spirits are good, just agitated, he will be better now that the nrcotics are gone and just ultram for pain.
he is looking forward to a friend coming to watch the gator game tonight.
GO GATORS!

Holly, that is good news, and a good appetite. I will keep praying for him and you. Have a safe trip back home.

I laughed out loud when I saw the list of what your son ate. It reminds me of my nephew who is 21, tall and skinny, and eats like a horse. I hope everything goes well and as planned for your son. I am also getting ready to watch football tonight-Oklahoma State. Go Pokes! So I will think of your son when I see the half-time scores on TV.

Hope discharge went as planned and the same for the ride home. I'll be thinking of you both the next few days.

Chris is recovering well. Went to some classes during the week. Looks better today, color back in his face. Some sutures are disolving others come out Friday. Old incision was cleaned out where it had developed an abscess type blister and that is all well now.
Still very sire but ultram is helping.
I hope when the tube comes out this will have resolved.
6 days and counting!
He is not going to the nascar race tomorrow in miami because it's just too long a day.
he is planning to be better for his 21st b day in 4 weeks.
