Finally after a year I have had my entrance to kock pouch dilated to 13 cm by Dr Launer and Dr Goldklang. No surgery needed and I am a happy girl again.
No guarantee it will not occur again but for now I can eat food and get on with my life. It was performed in the endoscopy center at Scripps Memorial La Jolla, CA, under light sedation. I flew back to Nor Calif. the same day.
In retrospect I should never have wasted a year treating it as pouchitis. In the beginning the Cipro gave me relief from pain for several weeks and then it would return. I did not want to spend the money flying to see my surgeon and tried to get fixed by other MD's who don't know about kock pouches. I will never waste that amount of time again just to save money. I post this for FYI to anyone having continuous pain with their k pouch. Be sure this is not causing your pain.
Thanks for everybodys input and caring to even read my message. Kudos to Dr Launer and Dr Worsey for bringing in Dr Goldklang!
Jeanne

wonderful news jeannie especially since your valve and pouch have always worked so good. just goes to show that you must go have a scope as soon as symptoms persist!!
