I have been without a computer for sometime now, but just got connected again. I do not have the same e-mail address anymore. I hope everyone is doing well and I am looking forward to my Kock Pouch Birthday in May "30 years"....WOW, time has gone by fast. I still have PTSD from harrassment in my x-workplace and it is permanent. I am surprised I lived through that horrific ordeal. My pouch is doing better without that stress. Enough said about that, I don't like to discuss it.
So I am back and hopefully can give others hope with their kock pouch. I have had no further surgerys on my pouch since the original back in May of 1978. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Always remember....After the storm there's a beautiful rainbow. 1977, September a Brooke Ileostomy (allergic to adhesives); 1978, May a Kock Pouch |

Jasmine,
Welcome back! I have often wondered how you were doing and where you disappeared to. I can't believe you're coming up on 30 years! Sue |

Thanks everyone!!!!!! I had to change my name to get back in. Yes, 30 years and still going; I wonder if anyone else has gone this long with the original kock pouch with no further surgery to their pouch or valve? I am hoping this lasts me my lifetime!!!!!! Always remember, after the storm there's a beautiful rainbow! Grandchildren are angels from heaven, they twinkle like stars in the sky!!!!! |

Hi Jasmine!! I am at 29 years, but had valve repaired last in 1985. It's been wonderful ever since. I recently had it scoped and all looked fine. I am hoping it outlasts me as well!!

I hope everyone has the success with their pouches as I have, 30 years is still amazing to me. It seems like I've always had a Kock Pouch. I never get upset if I have trouble getting in my catheter, because I know I will get it in, stress will tighten the muscles to the valve. So I don't get worried about it, I just try again. I have my name back now, so it's great to be back with my name so my friends will know who I am. I have missed you all!!!!!
