I use the Marlen and don't have a problem. Have you tried the other brands?

I have used them from the beginning. It just seems that the last few catheters I have received have been a little rougher around the holes and seems to irritate and rough up the surrounding skin a little more as it goes in.

Hello there -- I'm curious--what is a Marlen catheter. I've always used Medena. Are they more or less the same. Thanks for your input. NJgal

The Marlen catheters have a "bullet end" and have been easier for me to insert

Medina is a brand. They have a hole at the end of their bullet tip and two holes on the side. Marlen is a different brand. Theirs has a bullet tip and two holes on the side. [no hole at the end] Both of these come in different diameters. The most common is a 30 french [fr] diameter. The Continent Ostomy Store has a catalog with these and other catheters and all of the sizes available. I hope this helps.
