)In the never ending batle of getting my K pouch healthy and happy and all of the connective tissue around it to support it..I am forever paranoid (justifiably most times Frowner)..so I wrote to Dr. C in Toronto to let him know that I will be there in January...and hopefully get a check up but our dates clash....so..my situation is that the valve is 'mobile' meaning that it changes directions regulary and more and more often....occasionally it is a bit hard to figure out which way it is going and some times (most really) in goes in strait and fine....I wouldn't be freaking out except that this is how the other problems began..with directional changes...eventually ending up in not being able to get the tube in at all...
I know that my pouch is still attached (no leakage and no backflow)...and my little stoma is just so cute Big Grin...no prolapsing, no exvaginations so I know that the hernia repair is holding...but I am developing a spare tire on the right side over the pouch (weird...only on the right side!)... Dr. C says that my valve may have a kink in it (????) but I have no idea if it is the weight gain putting pressure on the valve, a kink or a real live problem...
Thoughts??? I have started mild exercise again and deep breathing to muscle up the abdominal mush that I have become since all of this started....but there is no real change just yet...am I just being paranoid? (2 pairs of noid???) Big Grin

It could be worse...oh, wait..it already has been! then I guess it can only get better from here....

Sharon..I have a spare tire of fat right above my valve going about 6 inches left to right. This is perfectly normal - it's a pocket of fat that develops after we get older/gain weight. That is why I take my fingers and pull it up and then make the area taut to insert cath.

My valve is is disconnected to my pouch and all is fine with it. I don't even pay attention to directional ways the cath inserts.

I would make every effort to see Dr C dates work. You are so stressed by all this, and he is the one who can releive your mind.
