Well the endoscopy was this morning and I had quite the surprise when we looked into the pouch and then back up at the valve..the pouch is fine and the valve is definitely in the pouch but it looks like the valve has 'split'. It appears that the first staple or two (or more) on the valve have come out and the valve has seperated or split in half..on one side it looks like a turtle-neck and on the other side like a V-neck Eeker I know that having held my own valve in my had during a prolapse that the end is supposed to make a full circle (kind of like a sock)....the radiologist couldn't tell me anything...this is the first time that he has ever seen one..Dr. C got sent a copy today and I wait for his response...I have no idea if this is the cause of my most recent prolapses (not that sever but very often)or if it is the hernia (to be fixed soon )...I am just hoping that Dr. C tells me that I can have a few stitches put in with a scope.
does it ever end?
Sharon

It could be worse...oh, wait..it already has been! then I guess it can only get better from here....

hi sharon...this is good news. It seems like you just needed to have your valve fixed all along. It would prolaspe if the staples are not holding it inplace and would cause interbation probs/leaking.

Still no answer from Dr. C but I expect that he is on vacation like the rest of the world...will recieve a response soon..I hope....Don't know how to fix this thing though..;is is minor with a laporoscopy or is it big???Hernia still there either way and am hoping to get it all done in May so that I can relax and heal....So until then..back to life and teaching and life.

Sharon,
It sounds like a few stitches would be a fix to this situation. I hope that is all it takes. But, I do not have an MD...and my husband says my common sense and reasoning can be a little
off Big Grin . But I am still optimistic for you!

Just sending good thoughts your way Sharon for an easy fix to this latest hurdle. Let us know what you surgeon says when he gets back to you.

In the meantime try to enjoy the Easter holidays and relax.

Poor Sharon! Life is never easy, is it? Hope you can get your valve repaired without another surgery.
