Lately I have been having some issues that i thought I would like to get some opinions on. Until yesterday, my output was very liquidy and I had been very gassy feeling frequently. Over the last couple, of days I have noticed that on occassion what feels like a burst of gas/air comes out of my stoma hole (whatever its called) and often makes my Ampatch begin to leak. In addition, I have noticed that more fecal matter has been coming out when I put the catheter in. Finally, or the last week or so, I have been having a very difficult time getting the catheter in. Until recently, I had just assumed that it was all related to pouchitus and I just needed to talk to the doc. about getting a prescription of Cipro. After the expulsions of air, fecal material and most importantly, the difficulty getting the catheter in, I have been wondering if this could mean a slipped valve. what do you all think?
Hi Marriedguy, Have you in any way changed your diet? Is there something that you are doing differently? No lubricant? Try keeping a journal so that when you do see your Dr. you can give him some concrete info. Sometimes weight gain can shift stuff but wouldn't cause the change in gas or consistency. Get it checked out quickly. Sharon
