Is anyone getting AM patch for less than $1.00 each. COS is where I got the last supply of 50. I only use them on special occasions due to cost.
Also is Medicare paying for anyone's catheters and AM patches?
My insurance Western Health Advantage refused to pay for my products because they were not available from the two sources they contract with. Any help I would be greatful.

Jeannie;

I obtain my ampatches directly through the manufacturer (Austin Medical Products). Their charge is about $.75 per patch. Medicare pays 90% of this and my secondary insurance pays the remainder. medicare also pays for the catheters. I suggest you call them (number is on their website www.ampatch.com ) about the your problem. Try to talk to Will Brown.

I also get my patches from Austin at info@ampatch.com, but I pay for them. I have not tried medical, was told (don't remember by whom) that insurance doesn't pay, but I am now going to try on my next order. I get my caths, french 30, lubricating jelly and skin-tac liquid adhesive from Edgepark Medical Supplies at 800-321-0591, they are on Eastern time, and my insurance pays for that. I have Medicare and Blue Cross. They did not pay for the 60cc syringes.

Hope I've been helpful. If you have any more questions just ask.

Judith I had Blue Cross for the last 4 years and didn't even ask them. What a dummy I was.
Thanks

All of the supplies that we use are considered durable medical equipment (DME), the places where you buy them can and should submit them to the insurance companies.

You should try the Mestopore S. It's reusable, sometimes I use it for 2 days. I just swap the gauze out when it gets soggy. I like it way more than the AM Patch, and I go through about one box of 20 per month. I personally find this more convenient than tape and nursing pads and stuff. It also seems to contain the wetness pretty well compared to others.

The Mestopore S are wonderful - I use them all the time, and they are extremely cost effective. Unfortunately, I believe they are not sold in the U.S. - Americans can only get the regular Mestopore, not the Mestopore S.

We unfortunately do not get the Mestopore S in the states. But, Dixie or Tiffy, you could act as distributors for us Big Grin! Having had the chance to try them they are really good.
