Sharon is doing very well. On day 5.Dr Cohen had to make a new collar , tack the pouch to the valve, reattach the valve to the pouch wall with permanent sutures.
The cath will stay in for 1 month, she is on gravity.Healing issues with the wound but that is normal for her.
Sharon is eating solid food and walking when permitted.
The new French surgeon has been wonderful.
Dr Cohen brought his OR in a suitcase with everything required.
Sharon translated their 1 hour meeting discussing the game plan(weird) and the IV person was brutal but got the IV in her wrist(almost through) and luckily she was able to have it removed on day 2.
Dr Cohen has called everyday to check on Sharon.
She says she will stay in the clinic the full 2 weeks.
She sounds great and I was so thrilled to hear the report from her.
She does not have computer access at all.
Sharon wanted me to post the update and thanks everyone for all their well wishes, prayers, concern, support and healing vibes.

Glad you heard from Sharon and she seems to be doing well. Is her doctor...Dr. Zane Cohen from Toronto, Canada? He is supposed to be a good pouch surgeon. He studied with the late Nils Kock of Sweden who developed the Kock pouch in the late 60's and early 70's.

Very good news, glad to hear that Sharon is OK and that the revision surgery to save her Koch Pouch went well. Awesome that her surgeon cared enough to travel to Paris to perform the revision surgery. Truly sounds like he is a dedicated and caring person and surgeon. Wishing Sharon best regards and a quick recovery.
