Take a good look at your post before hitting the 'Post Now' button.
Ask yourself, 'will this offend anyone'? If you're not sure of the answer, it probably will. I'm not trying to be politically correct. I just want to keep the discussions flowing in a positive direction and in focus.

Bill - you're absolutely correct - even politically speaking. In the past I have posted something that may have seemed offensive when, if fact, it wasn't. One person even emailed me asking if I was taking her to task. I was stunned. Of course I wasn't. But there was a phrase I used that made her think that I was referring to her. So, this is a two-way street. If you think someone is 'dissing' you, maybe they're not. PM or email them and ask about it. Maybe it can all be cleared up and we can all continue helping each other and STILL be friends. We certainly don't want anyone leaving because they feel they've been maligned. My feeling is that almost 100% of the people here would never hurt anyone else intentionally. I think that's the premise we need to remember. This is a very difficult surgery to go through. It's often a difficult recovery. And very often there are those wonderful little side-effects of having this surgery that most people never experience - EXCEPT the people here. We just need to take care of one another and refrain from trying to pile on. Yes?

True dat!

I totally understand this tip and think it's valid. It's probably something more people should do anyway, in general, in life- filter thoughts and think about what we say before we say it.

But that being said, misunderstanding etc. are bound to happen with any form of communication- especially on the computer. It is difficult to distinguish tone, etc.

We all carry different backpacks of experiences; so you never really know who you are affecting by a statement.

I also think it is important that people express themselves and if someone has an issue it can be discussed.

Hopefully that doesn't offend anyone...

Also, don't forget that you can go back and edit your post AFTER you hit the Post Now button. It's OK to have one of those moments where you type faster than you can think. BUT, make sure to go back and fix your boo-boos as an edit. No reason to make a second post explaining yourself.
