I'm sure this has something to do with my computer but haven't a clue. For some reason I'm not getting all of my emails. And even though I check to have instant notification on replies I'm not getting them. I have called my internet server and tech support for my computer and they can't find anything.

Anybody got any suggestions?

could it be a spam related issue from your e-mail? Perhaps they're blocking the e-mails because they think it is spam?

I wonder if the replies notification is only for replies to threads where you are the topic starter...

No I've been getting them all along. I turned off my spam protector on McAfee and I'm getting them again. Must have had something to do with that. I'm only using this Mcafee as a free trial anyway. I'll have to switch here shortly.

Well I had the opposite problem the other week. I was getting emails for every single post I had replied to not just the one's I'd started, even though I hadn't asked for any new notifications. I went back into my preferences and all the boxes seemed to be checked (or not) in the right places. It stopped doing it a day or so later so maybe the site has had a little bit of a blip or something?

Perhaps our Big Daddy Bill can offer an explanation?

That might be, and would be typical for me. This is a relatively new computer and the first week I had it several websites were acting wacky on their end and I thought I had a faulty computer!

Another thing I've noticed on a few occasions recently is that when I log onto the site it sometimes comes up without all the graphics and background, almost like a very basic old fashioned verson of message boards, like this one was when I first started coming here (showing my age here now! ) I have to refresh the page to get it to load properly!

I thought it was my computer but now I'm not so sure?

I´ve had the same thing happening with the old fashioned appearance on the screen. But it corrects itself after a few seconds, in my experience.
