I had a great discussion running and one day it was closed. It has been viewed over 6000 times, but no-one can comment anymore. What's up with that?

Well, (this is only MY opinion folks) I think that the discussion started becoming inflamed toward the end. Unfortunately, sometimes a member seems to relish trying to 'bring about dialogue' between people - but they're actually just trying to start wars. Rather than have to monitor something like that Bill will just close the thread. Bill is actually a real person with a real job and he doesn't have the time to babysit us. I image that when things started getting heated there were members who started reporting it to Bill. The closing of your thread had nothing to do with you (I'm assuming).

Bill will also close threads that are off topic. They take up valuable space that should only be used for our site's intended purpose. Sometimes we don't even realize we're posting off-topic.

But the thread is still there and people can still read it for a while. What you might want to do is copy the thread and save it on your own computer because there will be day when it gets removed from the site to make room for other things.

Is there a way to copy all the pages of a topic to my computer?

Topics that get threaditis, wherein the normally friendly posters begin to attack each other for as yet unknown reasons, are given a threadectomy performed by Bill.

I would guess that you would need to copy and paste each page separately into a word processing document.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

Was that thread that bad? It was great getting such a huge response to the topic. I was getting a lot out of it. I just ignored the bickering. Was my part OK?
