Hi,
When I have a new PM, I get a copy of the e-mail message to my hotmail account. I hit reply a few days back and it looks as though the e-mail went to billijohn@j-pouch.org instead of the person who sent me the PM? I would really like to get a copy of the e-mail I wrote sent back to me as it's not in my sent folder. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance! Hi Andrea,
Have you checked your private messages to see if your reply to the PM is there? It wouldn't have shown up as a sent email if you hit the "reply to message" at the bottom of the email copy of the PM because it technically isn't an email. The email address you mentioned is Bill's so hopefully he will see this and be able to help. If you replied to the e-mail and not the PM, it probably did go to Bill.
In order to reply to the PM, you have to go through your PM box here, not your Hotmail inbox. The PM is sent to your e-mail as a "courtesy" to let you know the message is waiting here on J-P. Used to be that only a few lines were sent in the e-mail, but now you get the entire message in the e-mail so I can see why you thought it would work if you just replied to the e-mail. Look in your PM box and the original message should still be there but your reply e-mail to the PM won't be. You'll have to rewrite it unless Bill can retrieve it for you. |

Thanks for clearing that up Shelby. I don't have a hotmail account, mine is outlook express so maybe it's different with hotmail? I can directly access the PM through my outlook emails (there's a prompt "reply to post" at the bottom of each copy in the email itself) and just assumed that was the same for hotmail too.

I use Outlook too and you can link to your PM box by clicking on reply at the bottom of the e-mail. However, if you actually reply to the e-mail it does not work the same. You have to click the link in order to respond. Or at least respond to the person who sent you the PM, and not Bill

Andrea,
I looked through my e-mails and I could not find this. I get about 450 e-mails per day and I probably deleted it as I get about 10 of these 'mistakes' per day. Sorry. Bill "What defines us is how we rise after falling." |
