I suffered with uc for 9 years and was dx'd with dysplasia in March of 2009. I opted to go straight for surgery instead of a repeat colonoscopy because I couldn't bear the thought of waiting and thinking about it all the time - I would have driven myself and my family crazy!
I had my first step April 13, 2009 and my takedown June 15, 2009.

I have had no complications, can eat anything and everything and really haven't looked back since.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. You will get through it!
