Hi,
I hope this message finds everyone doing well.
My name is Lisa and I live in So Cal.
I'm a j-poucher and have been for almost 18 years this December.

I'm also a Raw food Vegan, which goes against what we've all been told that we can't eat raw veggies, well, I'm here to tell you that it's possible.

I've had 3 children, 2 before my surgery and 1 after at the age of 40 yrs.

I had my surgery at St. Josephs in Orange California by Dr. Coutsoftides, whom I still visit every 5 years.

Anyway, I'm here to lend support. I've been through a lot with the j-pouch- pouchitis, bowel obstructions, hemorrhoids, burning butt, severe diarhea...but in the end they cleared up, and really cleared up after I cut out everything white in my diet especially milk products. But in the end I would go do it all over again to not have to live with ulcerative colitis again.

Hope I can be a source of support.

Blessings,
Lisa

Hi Lisa, I am a 49 year old retired Navy Chief and I live in Harleysville Pa. I had my rectum removed due to low rectal cancer in December. I wore a bag for six months so I could heal up and them a reversal about eight weeks ago (June 3rd 2010).

I have not been able to control a BM yet and I was wondering if this is normal and if it will ever get better. My surgeon says that it will get better but will spend enough time with me to answer any of my questions. Anyway, any help or advice you could give me would be much appriciated. My email address is "autumneagle@verizon.net. Thanks for listening.
