hi!

im from BC, im 21, have been sick for 12 years now. i was looking up some new symptoms i have and stumbled across this site and decided to sign up right away.

my most recent surgery was just over 7 months ago now which was to give me a temporary ileostomy in hopes we could salvage my j-pouch by giving it more of a rest. the surgeon told me this is it for temporary options, once i have it reversed and am still having difficulties, my only other option would be a permanent ileostomy.

this is the 2nd time in my life i've had an ileostomy so i know i could handle it, just not liking the "permanent" part of that phrase.

wow im facing the exact same situation as you, i have a temporary ileostomy because i had a couple anal fissures that would not heal and were killin' me! so my surgeon advised me too give it some time (its been 5 mon), so i went back to the bag, and awaiting takedown, like real soon, but im curious to know why they gave you a diverting ileostomy twice?
