Just wanted to say hello and say what a great site this is! I just stumbled on to it not too long ago, and finally decided to take the plunge and register. Just had mt last surgery on Feb. 18th and so far it has been a little rough to say the least! But I think I am on the right road to recovery. It is soo comforting know that there is a place like this with such an abundance of information right here at my fingertips!!!

Thanks Bob

Thanks!.....I was diagnosed with UC back in 2001,and gradually went down hill until meds stopped working and ended up back in the hospital last June of last year. After they treated me with some more agressive steroids to get everything back under control, I had a colonoscopy done and thats when I found out what kinda shape I was in(kinda already new the that the writing was on the wall!). My colon was shot, severl layers were gone and it had to come out!!! after about a week in the hospital to get me as healthy as possible(severely dehydrated) I underwent surgery. Soo far I must say.....It was the best thing I have ever done, wish I would of listened to my GI and had surgery sooner.

Hey! I was reading your last post...do you regret not having surgery before your remission? How was your remission? I'm trying to decide what to do...I had surgery scheduled and then started to go into remission and now I dont know whether to get it over with since its already scheduled or wait and see how long the remission will last?
Thanks for sharing your story!
Anne
