o.k., just about seven months ago I had an end ileo. done and a complete hysterectomy. Lately, my breast have been really tender and hurt in the morning and at night. Should this still be happening even though I have had a hysterectomy. Before it was brought on by pms but what could it be now or is this normal.Does anyone know?

Hello Hope,

I presume that as you have had a complete hysterectomy that you have had your ovaries removed and are some form of HRT? Just as with the pill not every type of HRT suits all women. Perhaps you need to try a different type or have your prescription adjusted?

Just a thought though I'm sure there will be others along soon with some more suggestions.

Good luck.

I agree. This hinges on whether or not your ovaries have been removed (not done with a total hysterectomy, which just means removal of the total uterus, including the cervix. But complete hysterectomy is a lay term with a vague definition that means different things to different people).

If your ovaries remain, you will still have cyclic changes similar to when you had periods, just without the periods. If they were removed, then your hormone replacement may not be properly adjusted.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

That's just it, my ovaries were removed and I have chosen not to take HRT. I have been doing fine and have not had any of the syptoms that are usually associated with a hysterectomy.I guess I'll get with my dr. just to be on the safe side. Thanks for your input.
