I have noticed an embarrassing 'fart' noise during sex. It doesn't happen EVERY time, but usually occurs at least once. I also have air expelled with the pressure of 'finishing' peeing. I dont have a fistula, and though 'rough' penetration may be the cause of SOME sexual noises, we have tried to be slower with no avail. This also wouldnt account for the urinary-related sounds. Am I alone on this? What can I do to alleviate the physical (and emotional!) discomfort that it causes? HELP?!

I think it is very normal to sometimes expel air from the vagina after sex. I believe this is caused by air getting pushed into the vagina during intercourse. I think different positions can cause this to happen more frequently, but I cannot really remember.
I guess there is the possibility that after surgery things (vagina/uterus/etc) have moved a bit since there is more room with the colon and rectum gone, and that is adding to the situation.
As for expelling air after peeing, I have not heard of that. Is the air coming out through the vagina or through the....ureter(?) I can't remember what the peeing area is called, sorry. You may want to ask your doctor about that.

I agree with Pixie, lots of vaginal farts after sex in certain positions with certain paratners (yes size can count in this one, the bigger the ....the more the air seems to be pushed in??? but then again I may be wrong)
but I have always found it a source of giggles not embarassement! Cracks me up every time and my hubby too. With a K pouch it is the only time in my life that I fart!
As for the post urination fart, I have never heard of it but why not?

Yes me too. I usually make light of it and ask if he's got a bicycle pump instead of a....... (use your own dialogue here. ) I've also expelled gas when peeing, though it's usually after having sex.

You're not alone. Try to see the humour in it and then you will feel less embarrassed.
