Hi Erin,
I have two children and both are thanks to ivf (and my JPouch surgeries were when I was 15 and 16 so way before). Like you, my infertility cause was never confirmed as I didn't want laproscipic surgery as not to risk hitting my pouch, but its believe it's due to scar tissue from the surgeries.
What questions do you have? I'd be happy to help you get through it in any way I can as I know it can be scary.

I too have two IVF babies and no identified fertility issue. Got pregnant first time with two fresh cycles and one frozen - I miscarried the pregnancy from the frozen cycle.
The two week wait is the worst part of te whole thing so try to stay busy, spend lots of time with your husband and relax as much as possible (yes I know it's pretty much impossible but...)
good luck!

Hey.. your story sounds like mine. My husband and I did 2 AI's and have just started the IVF process. I am currently on BCP and lupron injections. If all goes as planned, we should have the retrieval 1st week in August and transfer a few days later. I am worried about those 2 weeks after transfer.. it is going to be so long! Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss further..

Hi I have just done IVF I have some adhesions due to scar tissue but nothing too serious, i fell pregnant last year on clomid but miscarried I was expecting the IVF to be a bit of a horror but all went fine and exactly to plan I had a blastocyst transfered 4 days ago so now just relaxing and waiting!!! I was very uncomfortable for a few days after the transfer and took the advice of bed rest and feel ok now. Generally the whole thing was not as bad as i was expecting! just hope it has worked......wishing you good luck x

My husband and I were lucky enough to conceive on our first go round with IVF. We then conceived naturally 5 1/2 months after our first child was born.

we did IVF 11 years ago. We first tried insemination but came to realize i had massive scar tissue around both tubes (I had two children naturally prior to surgery) I suggest using caution in the number of embryos you transplant. We did 3 as the dr told us we had a better chance of winning the mega lottery than all three taking. Well we have triplets (2 boys 1 girl 10 yrs old) The pregnancy was rough and my pouch faired ok but I had butt burn and the runs from all the calories i had to consume I also got pouchitis several times during my pregnancy. All that said IVF was great for us

My tubes were clear but scar tissue displaced my ovaries - they are nowhere near the tubes so eggs could not get in. We wasted money on 4 IUIs and finally bit the ($) bullet and did one cycle of IVF, which was all we could afford. We didn't get enough eggs to do another/frozen cycle so that one shot was all we got.
We were very lucky and got pregnant, even luckier in carrying the baby to term and now our child is 15 months old and happy and healthy. He's our only baby, since we can't do IVF again, but we are very content with that given our tremendous luck in having it work with so few eggs at a later age (I was 39 when we went through it).
I felt better when I was pregnant than I have felt in years, honestly. I only had some difficulty very late in the pregnancy, and that was due to back problems, not pouch problems. I never had morning sickness, never threw up, etc. I only gained 20 pounds and lost most of it in the hospital. Wish I could do it again as it went so well, but we're very happy with what we have.
I'd also be happy to answer any Qs you have about IVF.
