Hi, Some ob probably do it but I think you are better off going to a RE. I had a dye test done in 2005 and my tubes were clear, but my RE said I have scar tissue covering my ovaries so I have to do IVF.

IUIs should be done by an RE or a fertility specialist (we used a fertility clinic). Just FYI, my drs told me that normal success rates for IUI were 8-10% but with my surgical history, they put my chances of IUI working at 1-2%. We got permission from insurance to skip 4 of the 6 IUIs normally required and went ahead to IVF. Worked first try (Alex is 2) and we are now expecting #2 from our second fresh IVF (due in July).
