Yes 100% normal. MY doctor said a year and he was right...it said its just like delivering a baby and having a c-section takes time. My surgery was in 2005 almost 3 years now and 95% is back one minor little area is not. It will come back...

Is it your skin that feels numb or the actual inner/inside regions? I had lapro surgery and there was a big region about 4-6 inches on each side of my scar, plus into the crease of my thighs that was totally numb. After about 3-6 months some of the feeling has returned. Have you spoken to your doctor? I think when dealing with nerves it can take up to 12 months for them to regenerate and regain function. I hope some of your feeling comes back. I actually started rubbing the numb area (over my clothes) while I was watching tv or whatever, I though this might help stimulate the nerves. It was kind of scary touching my body and not being able to feel it.
I'll walk this winding road into the great unknown.
