????Metformin???? Never heard of this one. This drug just prevents release of glucose from the liver and absorption of some carbs from the GI tract. The only use in the context you are talking about is if you have polycystic ovary syndrome and are glucose intolerant. It is not recommended as routine use for ovulation induction. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18243179?ordinalpos=...anel.Pubmed_RVDocSumJan
Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

HI...my Dr. wanted to put me on it for IVF, but I refused. I didn't have high blood sugar or anything, he said I had a gene/tendency....I got pregnant without it..good luck!

My girlfriend with PCOS was just put on it...They are hoping it will help her lose weight (which should help a bit with pregnancy) as well as the use Jan mentions above.

Hi, I was put on metformin when trying with our son in 2005 and I'm on it now again trying for baby #2. Both attempts were ivf but I have pcos and it's supposed to help with egg quality in my case and limit chance of miscarriage. Both of the attempts are with 2 different clinics and both prescribed the med. I know a lot of other women who are going thorugh fertility treatments that are also on it. Good luck.

Hi, I was on metformin for pcos. It never helped with my weight and I was always in the bathroom, more than having the pouch so I stopped taking it. I'm will probably have to start again if my next IVF cycle works.
