I am 10 weeks and 1 day with twins and my belly is already showing. I noticed I can feel scar tissues from the surgeries I had for ulcerative colitis and j pouch. I have been feeling that lately. Today I am feeling it more and it is becoming really uncomfortable and also feels like blockage near the colostomy bag. Anyone experince that? I am not sure if I should be calling my doctor about this soon...Feeling like I will throw up soon. Nervous first time pregnancy/mom to be with and it's twins... :-)

Yes, I had those issues around 17 weeks with a single pregnancy. If you are really feeling like it could be a blockage, scale back your diet. Eat soft foods, nothing high fiber. If you start to experience pain or vomiting, go to the dr.

Since you have an ostomy like I did, they might be able to prevent/clear a blockage with a catheter (if the blockage is close enough to the ostomy site). They inserted a foley tube into my stoma hole and the tube sat in the bag. This held the intestine open while my belly grew big enough to snap the adhesions. Once the adhesions snapped, the catheter fell out on its own and I was fine after that.

All first time moms are nervous and esp with twins. Don't be a hero, if you are worried call the dr. They are used to worrying moms. Don't add stress to the issues, get some reassurance sooner rather than later.

I have not eaten a thing since last night and only drank water, juice, and milk. Nothing is helping. My bag is doing ok. I had to change the bag just now and oh boy a big mess fluid coming out so fast. I haven't throw up yet. I don't want to because you and I know it is very gross to throw up with all that gross fluid out of the mouth. I just tried calling the doctor and got answering machine so I will call back in a bit.

Were they able to give you pain meds for the blockage pain without hurting the baby??

When I was pregnant with twins 24 years ago I had (have) a Kock pouch.
I was fortunate to not experience any adhesions actually up until now.
As I read what you ar experiencing I would suggest that part of your fluid intake should be Gatorade or something similar.
I hope this resolves soon for you and you become comfortable.

Yes, they gave me morphine but it didn't touch the pain so I didn't take more than 2 or 3 times. They can give you quite a few things for pain without harming the baby, so don't be a hero.

Turns out that I don't have blockage but I think I did because I passed huge white chunks out of my bag right before the x ray. I started to feel better after but still hurt. They found out that I took Zolfran for anti nausea and that cause serve back up in the plumbing system. I am only drinking or taking liquid food till tomorrow. They told me to not take Zolfran ever again because it seems to hurt my plumbing system. I also got a sneak peak on the babies. Baby A is jumping and kicking around like crazy. Baby B is lazy probably sleeping. They both are doing great. It made my day.

Oh good, I'm glad it wasn't a long ordeal for you (my blockage lasted 6 weeks).

Just my opinion, but take it easy with food. Don't eat things that are too fiberous. Even though the meds might have caused this issues, until you get much bigger and your uterus pushes past the intestines, it might not hurt to go easy just in case.

Glad you got to see the babies - the only saving grace during my hospital stay for the blockage was that we got to hear Alex's heartbeat every night for 3 weeks! Best medicine in the world...
