Thank a lot Katie. I had a terrible weekend. When I want to fart there is sometihing coming out of my vagina near the abscess. I felt myself sooo bad. I went to another surgeon on monday. He controled and said that, there is an abscess but we don't know if it is fistula or not, we have to wait for a week and then we look at it and if it is still a cystic thing, we have to take it immediately because if is bartholin abscess it can definetly affect your pouch. Can you believe it? For a nonsense thing there is possibility of loosing my pouch. As you know we had a very bad illness and we passed a hugeee operation. I can't really believe this small disgusting abscess can damage my pouch. I really don'know if it is fistula or not. I have to wait for a week to understand that. I am still on antibiotics. I pray for God.
For my gas problem, the surgeon said that it can be because of fistula or abscess. The bacterias may also do gas. But I am still anxious about this issue.
So ladies I am warning you. Please be careful when you feel something unusual near your vagina. Go as soon as possible to docs. It can really damage your pouch.
I will wait and see... I hope it will pass as soon as possible
Thanks for all the information you gave Smiler

Hey Laludy...

I'm having my cyst/abcess removed Friday during a out patient surgery. After they take it out, they can determine what the heck it is. I'll post over the weekend on this thread and let you know what happens. Good luck... Smiler

Have a fabulous day!

I have come to believe if the doctors look hard enough, they will find something wrong somewhere!

Good luck to you also cataja. I hope it is only a cyst.
My abscess is getting smaller but today it is a little bit bigger than yesterday. Monday I will go to control it. If it is still an abscess, they will remove it. I hope it is a cyst.

Hi,
I had a bartholin cyst thing also and it did seem to hurt my pouch. Before that, I was awesome with no problems for 12 years. This makes me very sad to read. I'm sorry for your pain.

Hi,
I will go to my surgeon tomorrow. There is still an abscess. I hope it did not do any damage to my pouch. What happened to you? Did you have an operation or anything else? Are you fine now?

No operation; I am fine now; however when I had my bartholin cyst I did go to the ER.

It's a long story but basically I got the bartholin cyst/abscess 8 yrs ago. Didn't know what it was, it was big, puffy, sore and I had discharge. Eventually it popped but I went to the ER because I was freaked out (there was blood-like discharge everywhere) and didn't know what was happening to me. They drained it further in the ER, and then I went home and it healed.

So then I was OK for a couple years but at some point about 6 yrs ago I started having weird discharge again and vaginal farts and was going to the bathroom more & more often. I lost weight and was very tired. I didn't have a GI Dr. at the time. My OB/GYN wasn't sure what was going on with me, so I decided to go see a GI Dr. and he said I had pouchitis. The pouchitis went on for some time (a year or more) without diagnosis which made things really bad. My pouch surgery was in 1991/1992 and I NEVER had any problems until this happened.

I went on heavy antibiotics and everything cleared up eventually. I'm great now but I am having trouble getting off the low dosage of antibiotics for the pouchitis.
