After being on this site for almost 2 years, I always braced myself that getting pregnant could possibly be a challenge.
Well... the first time my fiance and I ever had unprotected sex, I got pregnant. (Our wedding is in 7 weeks, so hopefully I'm not showing.)
Last night we got to see our baby, 8 weeks, the size of a little pumpkin seed with a heartbeat. We are really excited (I am due 1/8, which is my fiance's birthday).
I know it's still early. So far I have been incredibily lucky- no morning sickness, some breast tenderness and on and off increased frequency.

I know there are those out there they try so hard to get pregnant and I know it's just not fair that it doesn't happen. But I wanted to share my story so that others know it can be easy.

As someone who had trouble getting pregnant, I never wanted to be a person who couldn't be happy for those who got pregnant easily. But I was often shocked by the insensitivity of most people, especially those who knew our situation. I found your post quite refreshing - the compassion and understanding you show for those who aren't getting pregnant easily was very touching.

Congrats Kar! I hope you have an uneventful pregnancy.

Well, this new little person couldn't possibly have a better mother - and I'm assuming father since you have dang good taste. Congratulations!!! And I'll tell you what I tell everyone - you will NOT believe how much you'll love this new tiny bit. They're even better than puppies and kittens. You'll have a blast. Remember though, we need baby pics (are you listening Jill??? haven't seen anything new for a while now!)

Have a wonderful wedding too.

Aww thank you so much, that made me feel so special!
It's good to share the news especially because we haven't told anyone yet. My family has been stressed out with my grandmother being in the hospital since early May(aneurysm surgery, complications and C-diff). We didn't want my mom to worry about another thing.
But I hope to share as soon as possible. And hopefully everyone will be as kind as you ladies!

Great news indeed! I just hope your wedding dress will still fit. Those boobies tend to enlarge rather quickly! But, being a first babe, the belly shouldn't pop too fast.

Now the fun really begins...

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

Kar...I am so happy for you. Thank you for sharing with us. It's funny, but since my grandniece, Isabella was born, (Nov'07) I get all emotional everytime I hear of someone having a baby. Again, great news, keep us up to date.

Have a fabulous day!

I just wanted to add my congratulations! I like to think that we have a little extra room without our Colons so you may have a little extra time before showing.

What exciting news! By fifteen weeks your bust will be bigger and you waist will be thicker and hips spread a bit. I carried very small in both my pregnancies and didn't gain much weight but did have those body changes somewhere between 12 and 15 weeks. I am sure you can get a dress or possibly alter a dress if you already have one so it is concealed well but I would be prepared if you have a very fitted dress.

Thanks for the well wishes and tips!

Luckily I am tall- 5'8" so so far the only thing changing is a little thicker waist and breasts getting bigger. And it would be nice if there was more room since the colon was gone, haha.

I am going to try on my dress this week and see how it goes... here's hoping!
