| Nuva Ring is a hormonal method, it's just not systemic to the extent that a pill being absorbed into the bloodstream is. I used to use it, but didn't prefer it due to the increased vaginal discharge. I could also feel it during intercourse and my husband could too. I can see the advantages though, you put it in and don't think about it again for three weeks. So, maybe worth a try. Good luck.

| I tried it for a few months (pre j-pouch) but it just didn't work for me. I've always had trouble with hormonal BC though and this was the worst. It made me extremely moody and even angry, it was weird. About 2 weeks after stopping I was back to normal.
I did like the covenience and did not find it uncomfortable in any way. I'd say it's worth a try anyway.

| I used it for several years and really liked it. I could never feel it was in there and neither could my DH, and I felt it was an easy way to manage it. I had a lot of side effects from even the lowest dose of the BC pills and no side effects from this, I really liked it. Everyone's experiences are different. You can always try it and if it doesn't work for you, do something else. Would you consider a cervical cap? I used a diaphragm for a long time before the ring and I thought it was a pretty good method as well. |

| I got blood clots after my first surgery and being on nuvaring, be careful. I had 2 surgeries before and didn't have blood clots so the only common denomenator was the nuva ring...beware. |
