Hi all

I was told I needed IVF to conceive due to blocked tubes from scaring after the op

My first IVF in November resulted in a pregnancy! was so so happy but at 9 week scan they found no heartbeat Frowner

I am going back today.. a week later to see if there is any change. im 10 weeks today.

had no bleeding or cramps and did a cheap test today thinking that the lines would be lighter but its still dark

Anyone get pregnant again after miscarriage and bowel problems?? xxx

I've been there and there is hope!

My first fresh IVf cycle I got pregnant with a single after transferring two embies. That pregnancy went full term and Alex is now almost six! Second attempt was a frozen cycle. Got pregnant bu things looked tenuous from early on. Missed miscarriage around 8 weeks. Had d&c about 10 weeks. Followed up with anfresh cycle where we transferred one hatching embie - full term pregnancy and Meghan is now 3 1/2.

I had a failed j-pouch so had a perm oleo at the time of my IVFs - had had two midline open surgeries and two through stoma opening.

Let me know if you have questions!

I'm so sorry to hear about this. I think you have to take the pouch out of the equation here and realize that this happens with MANY "normal" pregnancies and many women experience m/c and then go on to have many more children. I know it's not only heartbreaking, but to go through the process of IVF and then end up in this sitaution is really incredibly tough. I feel for you.

I hope your next attempt is a bean that sticks.

As an aside, I assume they had you receive progesterone shots daily after they put the embryo(s) back in?

It's estimated that as many as 50% of all pregnancies end in loss at some point with most of those in the first trimester and a every large number as early pregnancies. We who've gone through IVF feel like it happens more often to us, but the truth is that since we're being monitored so closely, every pregnancy will be caught, and so we know every loss. For most other women, if they're not expecting a pregnancy, they may have losses without realizing it. A lot of late periods may be losses, and a lot of women take pregnancy tests, get positives, go in, get a negative, and think they got a false positive, but the thing is, tests look for HCG which is ONLY present if there's a placenta which will only happen if an embryo implants. Pregnancy. The negative happens when there's a loss.

Don't lose hope. We had a handful of twin-losses, and our daughter just woke up fussing. We lost her twin too. But each lose we suffered was ultimately worth it. We would rather have the little princess we have now than any other child.

Diagnosed with UC at age 12, 1993
Complete collectomy in 1995 at age 14, four-step process due to complications.
Hit by car at 19 (2000), resulting in ruptured pouch.
Pouch repaired at 23 (2004).
Diagnosed infertile, bi-lateral blockage at 24 (2003).
IVF in 2008 and 2009
Had our miracle-daughter December 3, 2009, in a home-birth, and I'd do it again!!

Don't give up!!
