Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has any problems with ovarian cysts and surgery-related scar tissue. My husband and I are TTC our second (first son miraculously was not planned) and I have been experiencing left-sided ovarian pain. MY OB did an ultrasound and said I have a small "simple" cyst and not to worry about it and it would go away on it's own. Three months later I still have pain. I went back for another ultrasound, which showed another cyst (he said a different one) but didn't know why it would be causing this constant pain. He suggested it may be putting pressure on scar tissue which may have formed from pouch surgery, or from the C-section. He otherwise had no recommendations for treating it, but said everything looks healthy otherwise. Has anyone had anything like this? Hate to keep dosing on ibuprofen when we're trying to get pregnant, but nothing seems to help otherwise.
Thanks! Colleen |

I've had the same thing and in the same place. The thing that works for my pain is birth control which you can't take given you are trying to get pregnant.
Maybe you can get back on the birth control after the baby and resolve the pain. Sorry I don't have any advice for you now...but you're not alone. "...all things work together for the good of those that love Him..." Romans 8:28 |

I have this problem as well. I tried the birth control, but it didn't help at all. I have had surgery to remove my cysts, and surgery to remove the scar tissue. But both returned within 6 mos.
They started out on my right side, but now they are on both sides. Right now I have a 10cm cyst in my right ovary, and a 6cm in the left, along with several smaller ones. The adhesions are painful enough on their own. We've talked about removing my ovaries as a solution. I take a lot of pain meds, but it only masks the pain. Sometimes they can drain the cyst, but not in my case. Taking warm baths seems to help ease the pain, and using a heating pad helps too. I have found that exercise makes the pain worse for me. Hope I could help a little! Recipe for Happiness: Find something you love to do and do it often. |
