Just wonder...lots of you have said that the vaginal cavity is tilted or tightened or whatever else. And that sex is uncomfortable at first...all over again. Now I'm not aiming to have sex (intercourse) for a while. Not that it really matters I wouldn't think. Shifting of your innards isn't gonna change no matter how long you wait. I guess I'm wondering: it feels different to us...does it feel different to the guy too? Like have any of your men said you felt tighter or smaller or anything? Just curious...

Thanks
Tanya

How do I put this tactfully? Lubricant, need lots of lubricant. I really thought it was because it had been so long due to illness but everyone seems to have the same reaction after the surgery.

Similar to headphones, I wasn't getting busy too often with the ostomy. My husband didn't mind the bag but it seemed like a comedy of errors trying to have sex with the bag. Now after takedown it is still really tight but at least I am not worried about exploding on loving husband!

My husband never said anything about me feeling different. I will have to ditto the lubricant thing. I need to use it every time. I'm guessing maybe some of my nerves were damaged a bit.

Our sex life had dimished a lot too in the past months (years?). First because of UC, then the bag. I was self consious and he was admittedly freaked out by the bag. I'm REALLY looking forward to this getting back on track!

interesting. Thanks ladies. I've actually not done this activity for a very long time (once in the last 5 years.) But my boyfriend of going on a year and a half...well he's interested shall I say. I mean we've dedicated to wait til marriage for intercourse but I mentioned the 'like a virgin' thing because I figure thats how it will be for me. He seemed pleased with that idea so it made me wonder is it kinda like that for the guy too...like being with a virgin (physically). So should we go down the Aisle I guess we've find out... Maybe I'll have to play Madonna's "like a virgin" song as sorta a private joke... Cool

Magic,
Yes...you can play it..Even if it isn't true after going through all of this hell...and waiting for the wedding night...you deserve it!
Have your night table (if you make it to the bedroom!) filled with tubes of lube (comes in colours, perfumes and flavours Big Grin)and maybe a bottle of champagne to lube the rest of you up....nothing better for the first time then to be relaxed and have some fun...post pouch is fill with its own lot of fears, stress and unknowns...just relax and warn your boyfriend/new hubby that it is something that is to be taken very lightly...with laughter, fun and patients...
Make it a game and Please...Enjoy but don't be afraid to slow down or stop if you need to take a cuddle break...

This is an interesting question! I wondered that myself, but my husband has never been with anyone else or with me pre-pouch so I wouldn't be able to ask him. I do think that the pouch for sure puts more pressure on that area though. Maybe we get some bonus out of this in addition to no diseased colon? Smiler
