I had ileostomy surgery may 22 and since the surgery I won't stop bleeding out of my vagina. It's like having a constant period everyday. I talked to my surgeon and he says that if it doesn't stop to go see a gyno. I'm frustrated because I got this surgery so that I didn't have to wear a pad 24/7 from the RV fistula I had for 5 years!!! Is this simply a result of having major surgery? The blood is a dark dark brown almost black. I never had this problem before. There is no pain just some bleeding. Very wierd, anyone had this problem?

The colour leads me to think that it is old blood....probably a result from the traumatic shock of surgery....no pain? no fever? it should slow down and then stop after a while..it could also be your hormones that are off post-op and just keep you bleeding...after 30 days you should really have a gyn take a peek anyway...no chance of being pregnant???
take a test....and make an appointment.
