So what is the deal with Immodium while pregnant? Really. Some say okay, others say bad. I need to know. I used to take up to 4 a day depending if I'm having a "bad tummy day" or "good tummy day". Now that I'm pregnant I've been able to bring it down to 2 a day. Is this okay? Am I harming my fetus? Thank you for any of your thoughts.

My high risk OB said it was fine - I usually only take 1-2 a day. While pregnant I cut down where I could, but I didn't worry if I needed to take it.

My trouble with iron is a whole other subject! It doesn't "stop" me up that much. Only enough to cut down to 1-2 a day, but I still need to take it. Everybody's tolerances to supplements, drugs, food, etc is different. On that note, actually, I have been able to eat fresh apples now that I'm prego! This is very exciting for me, I haven't been able to tolerate a whole apple in 15 years! I'm assuming that it is because the bowels slow down during pregnancy as the body's way of absorbing more nutrients for the baby. This slow down is what was needed, I guess, to help me digest things like apples and popcorn. Yay!
