this probably isn't a good idea is it?i felt the fistula with my finger and it is extremely low down ..i felt the air pass through so my surgeon definitely missed it for sure..but i tried a tampon and it helped..i had no air or discharge coming out..but it makes sense cause ..it was being blocked lol..but has anyone ever done this? i only used one ..once but i dont know if i should use it again..is it safe? or harmful

It should be OK, just don't leave it in all day and do not use the extra absorbent type. However, if you notice an increase in drainage or begin having pain, you need to stop using them.
Jan Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass. |

Actually my surgeon told me it was okay. In fact, he told me if I was passing a lot of air to put one in to avoid any embarrassment, if I felt the need to do so. (Can't control the air!) I would also suggest changing it several times during the day.

I suggest moving this to the womans forum where it belongs
Some days we have to make our own sunshine. (my mothers favorite saying.) |
