Claire,

I understand your concerns as I had the same fears before my surgery about 2 months ago and I have been married for 23 years (I am 48). Going through these surgeries at 13/14 must have been so difficult. I am glad to hear you are looking to develop a relationship or further develop an existing one.

Although it is early in my recovery, I can report that I have not had any leakage during intercourse. I make sure to empty my pouch thoroughly and shower before anyway.

As far as pain goes, I can tell you I have experienced some. I am not sure if it will improve in the future since I am so early into this surgery, but it is not unbearable, just a bit uncomfortable. I would be surprised you would experience this since your surgery was so long ago.

Hope that helps ease your fears a bit and best wishes to you.

I haven't experienced any leakage during sex. Like kjeane, I empty my pouch before hand.

I have experienced some pain or discomfort. I would equate it to being similar as the first time. Since you haven't been sexually active before, you probably wouldn't feel any difference.

The best thing is to be relaxed and enjoy the experience.

Thanks so much for your replies! They have most definitely eased my worries a bit. And kjeane, seeing as your surgery was not too long ago, I wish you the best of luck in recovery! Smiler
