I had the surgery done about 2 weeks ago and am feeling pretty good, but I was wondering if anyone's GI's or Surgeon's told them that they should wait a certain while after the surgery to have sex. Will it effect anything on the inside?

You definitely need to ask your surgeon this question because it all depends on what was done. Step one (from your profile) does not describe your surgery to me. It could mean that you just had the colectomy or it could also mean that your j-pouch was created.
But, either way, the general rule is to wait 6-8 weeks to make sure that all suture lines are completely healed. The main thing is to go gentle and slow (no activity that would qualify for a porn shoot). Choose a position where you have control so you can back off if necessary. Jan Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass. |

I would have to agree with the 6-8 weeks.
I think that's the general rule after surgeries. And do take it slow. I know some people have had a lot of pain associated to sex after surgery. I know I had some pain but it has gotten a lot better. And some positions are better than others.
