Hi gals,

I am 22 yrs old n am new to this. I was diagnosed with FAP at 11 yrs old. I had pouch surgey in May 07 and July 07.

My main concern at the moment is when should i start trying???
I hav a 2 yr old little girl and would love her to hav a younger sibling!!!
My partner and i would like to have a baby naturally but the odds are against us.... 30% chance. Our daughter was 70%

Any suggestions???
Muchly Appreciated

If you are doing well since your surgery, start trying! That where all the fun is anyway. Wink

It may take some time to get pregnant, so the sooner you start trying, the better. I'm sure you have read a lot of posts about struggling to conceive after pouch surgery so keep in mind that it may be a rough road ahead but there are many different options available to help you. Not to mention all the support you can get from everyone right here.

Good Luck!

One thing you have on your side is that you are young and from a fertility standpoint, that will only help. So, if you are ready for another one now, go ahead and try. But don't assume you'll have a long road and start trying EXPECTING it to take a long time because that is when it will happen right away. So just be sure when you do start trying you are ready either way.

And if it does take time, or you have issues, take heart...I had my first baby at 34 (almost 35) through IVF (first try) and am expecting #2 from IVF (again first try) at the age of 37. Fertility clinics would be chomping at the bit to work with someone like you - young, already had a successful pregnancy and facing issues that are most likely correctable. I first saw a clinic at 32 and they were trying desperately to get me on board, so I can't imagine how they would react to someone your age.
