Good Afternoon,

I was wondering if anyone has been told that scar tissue has seperated their fallopian tubes and ovary making it impossible to get pregnant naturally. I have done an HSG and Saline Infusion and their appears to be no blokcage. Waiting on MRI results now..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you...

Yes, scar tissue around the ovararies preventing the egg from getting into my (perfectly fine) tubes is why I could not get PG. We went through IVF. Our son is 2.5.

You fallopian tube is never attached or touching. Instead there is a small distance that an egg has to travel from the ovary to make it into the fallopian tube. The finger like projections on the end of the fallopian tube have to be able to move to guide and catch the egg allowing it to enter the fallopian tube. Scar tissue can interfere with this process so that the egg never makes it into the fallopian tube. For this reason, those of us whose fallopian tubes are immobile must see a doctor immediately if we have a positive pregnancy test to rule out the chance for an ectopic pregnancy (since sperm can make it out of the fallopian tube and fertilize an egg where ever it might be in the abodmen.

My daughter has had her j-pouch for 6 years. She will celebrate her 5th wedding anniversary this February (2012). She has had five IUI's, with none being successful. They are planing on IVF this coming year, 2012. I too had done some research and found through this discussion board that scar tissue plays a part in the failed IUI's.
