I've had a lot of surgery and abdominal infections over the years which means I have a problem with internal adhesions. Wee Willie retracts and telescopes when my output is too thick and he has to work a little harder to push it out through all the strictures and adhesions. He ALWAYS comes back out once the stool has passed. I wear a convex wafer now but when I first had him and was using a flat wafer he could blow the wafer right off when the output was very thick. I have to be careful with my diet not to include too many fibrous foods but apart from that he really doesn't bother me.

As for him rubbing on my clothes, well I like to wear close fitting jeans and skirts and really nothing ever happens to him and no-one can see him so like Jason I just forget about him and go about living my life. I think the secret for me is good quality lycra underwear. I wear my bag at an angle diagonally across my belly and my magic knickers hold him in place so that I don't get that dragging feeling when it starts to fill up.

Its interesting to hear where everyones stomas are. I saw the ostomy nurse for the first time today and just as I thought my stoma is in a wierd spot. It is about 2-3 inches above my bellybutton (I think haha still have all the bandages on from surgery) and just barely to the right. I had emergency surgery and woke up with the bag so I had no choice in the matter. As for how far it sits out.. its flush and just under an inch around.
