Hi Winnie,
I've had a lot of surgery and abdominal infections over the years which means I have a problem with internal adhesions. Wee Willie retracts and telescopes when my output is too thick and he has to work a little harder to push it out through all the strictures and adhesions. He ALWAYS comes back out once the stool has passed. As for him rubbing on my clothes, well I like to wear close fitting jeans and skirts and really nothing ever happens to him and no-one can see him so like Jason I just forget about him and go about living my life. I think the secret for me is good quality lycra underwear. I wear my bag at an angle diagonally across my belly and my magic knickers hold him in place so that I don't get that dragging feeling when it starts to fill up. One glass of red wine per day is good for the heart..... it's just that mine's a big heart so I need a very big glass!!!! D-| Cheers! |

Its interesting to hear where everyones stomas are. I saw the ostomy nurse for the first time today and just as I thought my stoma is in a wierd spot. It is about 2-3 inches above my bellybutton (I think haha still have all the bandages on from surgery) and just barely to the right. I had emergency surgery and woke up with the bag so I had no choice in the matter. As for how far it sits out.. its flush and just under an inch around.
