i was told by stoma nurse you can live with loop on permanent basis...i know end is better but bigger op more risks...i am afraid of that..

I'm not sure that's correct that an end ileostomy is a bigger operation. I could be wrong though. You should get another opinion regarding that. Even if that's true, the loop is often very problematic so you might be trading a one-time bigger operation/risk for a lifetime of irritations. Yes, there are people that live with a loop, but I think you'll be much happier with an end. kathy

i agree that if you are having the j pouch removed end ileo will probably be better long term unless you are just dicerting woth a loop temp and keeping the j ppouch intact
