Greetings to you all!!
I had my permanent ostomy and rectal stump surgery May 1, 2007 after a long hard pull of trying to save my J-Pouch. I have pain in the rectal, tailbone, and gluteal area after sitting to long. I feel at times as if I have a plug of cotton in area that use to be my rectal opening (very weird sensation). I also can be woken up in the middle of the night with a sharp nerve ping/shock. I am doing gental yoga/stretching as well as trying to walk daily (that's when the weather allows it here in Maine!!) in order to try to rememdy this discomfort. I'm annoyed that this discomfort has lasted this long and welcome any suggestions. Be well and keep laughing :~) Chris Chappy |

Hi Chris,
Is this a new pain or just one that has never resolved from your surgery? If it's new then you should mention it to your doctor. If it's old then it could be nerve damage or an old abscess and you should still mention it to your doctor. Hope you get some relief soon. Take care. One glass of red wine per day is good for the heart..... it's just that mine's a big heart so I need a very big glass!!!! D-| Cheers! |
