Stacking ring barriers to make a mock convex wafer?

so my supply of convex wafer will just about make it my take-down date, but I have enough barrier rings and some extra flat wafers.

Can I stack 2 or 3 barrier rings to mimic the same effect of a convex wafer? Specifically, will they adhere to each other and not leak through (in between each other)?

Things are never so bad that they can't get worse.

never tried that.

Maybe just order some samples from Coloplast, Convetec or Hollister to get you to your take down. It will be free and will be shipped for free within a couple of days.

They already sent me samples, and I ordered a 2 month supply. But will be about 1 or 2 short before my takedown, and don't really want to try to get more free ones, but rather want to make do with some flat ones that I already have.

I would give the stacking a try. The worst thing that can happen is it leaks, and then you'll know not to do it again. Smiler

1 Step j-pouch surgery 7/10
Emergency ileostomy 7/10
Takedown 5/11

Very happy with my results thus far.

i can't wear convex wafers because they break my skin down and so i create convexity with an eakin and have been doing it for 6 months with my completely flush to the skin colostomy and now my 1 inch long loop. I know one works just fine for me. I would think that if you use 2 it would also work, but you may need to change more frequently. But one eakin will definitely give you some convexity.

Can you fill in with paste? I always wonder if that might work because I have flat ones left.
