i'm not sure if i'm having gas pain or just pain after surgery. its been almost 3 weeks after step one and they did the big incision, almost 12 inches! i know that my muscles are trying to come back to life too, but not sure if that is what i'm experiencing. i'm having sharp pains in the abdomen, similar to gas pains before surgery. they are actually bad enough that i am taking lortab for it a few times a day. if it is gas pain, does the simethicone pills work? do i need to avoid milk? i have it most of the day, so i haven't been able to pinpoint a specific food. i've been craving milk, cheese, etc and trying to only eat a little, but i've had about 1-2 cups of milk a day. i'm guessing that's too much?
how long does it take for your gut to adjust? had step 1 on july 11th |

If the lortab is taking away the pain then it is not likely gas. If you are experiencing a lot of gas in your bag then yes, lay off the dairy! Most ibd sufferers experience some sensitivity to dairy products. The pain could be any number of things. It is still early so healing up pains are normal. It may take so time to see if they stick around and are actually out of the ordinary or anything to be concerned about.
